Does Dave Jones Have Enough In His Locker To Beat WBA? Well, I'm going to be a bit controversial here and say I'm interested in Cardiff at the 3.00's I've spotted at Betfair.
If you read my early Championship thoughts for last weekend you'd have spotted my reluctance to go anywhere near a West Brom side which seems to be stumbling along despite the fact they were facing a fragile Colchester leaking goals and heading for relegation. I predicted palputations for the West Brom backers and my word they surely delivered, eventually scraping a 4-3 win.
So now they travel to Cardiff. The same Cardiff who are unbeaten in 5 with 3 home wins in a row - impressive enough but it gets better: 1-0 win over a Hull side who seem to be sweeping aside all comers in their rise to 3rd place and a 2-1 victory over table toppers Bristol City. And on Saturday we saw a narrow win over a tricky Southampton (only their 2nd defeat in 8).
I won't deny this is a tough match for Cardiff and West Brom are capable of blowing sides away on their day. They just don't seem to be having many of those days in recent weeks and I believe they're vulnerable here to a team showing some good form and still pushing for a playoff place. I'm going to ditch the X1 and be brave.... Cardiff City @ 3.00 Betfair
Team news from BBC:
Cardiff hope to have Kevin McNaughton (hamstring) back, while Stephen McPhail and Aaron Ramsey should be fit. Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink serves the final game of his ban, Robbie Fowler remains sidelined, while Warren Feeney and Trevor Sinclair could feature.
West Brom could welcome back defender Leon Barnett after he made a swift recovery from a hamstring problem. Neil Clement could come in for Bostjan Cesar at the back, while Luke Moore completes his three-game suspension.
