1.40 Moyenne Corniche @ 7.4 - Moyenne Cornich: Pleasing debut from off steady pace when closing fourth in 1m Nottingham maiden on debut; that only an ordinary affair but clearly expected to do much better this year (has 2,000 Guineas entry) and Ryan Moore booked so needs considering.
Forget It @ 20.00 e/w - Late headway when 25-1 sixth of 15 in what looked ordinary C&D maiden for track last October; likely capable of better, probably over further.
2.15 Zaham @ 8.2 - Made huge progress in first season last year, winding up with seconds in Group 3 events at Goodwood and Ascot; those efforts earned him just the highest BHA rating of these but ran no sort of race in Winter Derby on return (had been gelded, stumbled at start and suffered an overreach) and needs to put that effort well behind on slowest ground he will have tackled.
Gower Song @ 19.00 e/w - On sidelines for much of last season but taken form to new level in Dubai this time, delivered just right when winning Group 3 last month and far from disgraced in Sheema Classic latest (tried to come from last and was hampered); handles soft and has to be respected as mare at top of her game.
2.50 Lang Shining @ 6.4 - Did not do himself justice tried over 1m2f on final start last year but had looked interesting handicapping prospect earlier over this trip when beating big field in Newmarket maiden and when closing second from well off pace at Sandown; type to make much better 4yo (leading Lincoln fancy until failing to make the cut) and this ground should not be a problem on pedigree.
Capable Guest @ 38.00 e/w - Suggested he retains all his ability this year and should get the strong pace that suits (often takes time to warm to task and can hit flat spot) but edging back up in weights again and has modest strike-rate for one of his ability so no surprise if coming up just short.
3.25 Lady Deauville @ 12.50 e/w - Runner-up to Muthabara at Sandown last summer but bettered that form and proved herself very much at home on soft ground last autumn when winning Listed events here and at Fontainebleau, also runner-up in Group 3 in France in between; has to be respectedon return under conditions that will suit.
Annie Skates @ 17.50 e/w - Ambitiously campaigned after landing odds in 7f Kempton maiden last September, close third in Listed event at Newmarket before runner-up in valuable contest at Monmouth on the first day of the rain-affected Breeders´ Cup meeting; those efforts put her firmly in the mix here.
4.30 Aphorism @ 5.7 - From a very good staying family and progressed nicely last year, winning at Warwick before fair third behind two in-form performers on final start (soft); likely more progress on cards this year and one to consider, though will need to settle better than on final start to last home if conditions are testing.
5.05 Ezdiyaad @ 7.2 - Steady progression last summer and Newmarket win worked out better than looked likely at the time; the sort to do better again this year but no excuses off this mark when last seen and more needed.
Granston @ 14.00 e/w - Only upped 2lb for his Doncaster win under today´s jockey, which is more than fair; however, was always in the right place that day in a tactical affair (nothing to spare) and still to prove he truly stays this longer trip at a good pace, especially on dead ground.
